Mumbai, Sep 16 (TruthDive): Barfi, the romantic comedy starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra directed by Anurag Basu has opened in Indian theaters with a bang. According to reports given by box office capsule on opening day, September 14, the romantic comedy has exaggerated Rs 9.75 cr in Indian box office.
However, the film directed by Anurag Basu has surpassed first day collections of Rockstar, Ranbir Kapoor earlier version. Rockstar, the musical romantic movie earned Rs 11 million rupees on his first day in the domestic market.
Rockstar was released on November 11, 2011 in 2,500 theaters. Now, Barfi opens in 1300 multiplexes and single screens in India 300. The film has grossed approximately Rs 9.75 million net rupees, down Rs 1.25 million rupees to eclipse the record for Rockstar.
The film is doing good business in most major cities. Barfi is expected to see an increase in collections on Saturday and Sunday by the good word of mouth publicity.
The public response to the film is very good. Audience coming out of the theaters are very happy with the film. They are giving good words about the movie, especially about the performance of Ranbir and Priyanka.
