The sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear—the hero who inspired the toy—introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans.
Oh wow…..I wasn’t expecting this movie. I kind of didn’t expect it, but I am quite intrigued about this movie. Yes, I do know that the story of Buzz Lightyear and how Disney tried to expand upon his character’s backstory with the animated TV series Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, but I find it interesting that Pixar is willing to devote a full animated feature film to showcase more of his origins. Don’t get me wrong, I like the idea. From the trailer alone, the story is kept vague, but what is shown looks quite epic and cinematic and do hope that the film delivers on being similar to the Incredibles…..a more action packed endeavor than some of Pixar’s other works. In the end, I’m looking forward to seeing Lightyear in 2022, with the hope that this project reaches for the stars from such an illustrious animated studio.
