This week at least 7 Bollywood and couple of regional films in addition to one Hollywood film will be hitting cinemas. Call this suicide by producers or lack of common sense, this scenario will affect exhibitors and makers adversely with dismal numbers on day one.

As expected, Viacom 18 release ''Manjunath'' was washout and film managed only 3 lakhs all India. PVR Pictures release ''Khwaab'' managed even poorer 1.5 lakh all India. ''Yeh Hai Bakrapur'' got acclaim among critics but that did not translate into numbers on day one but film can do better in coming days.

''Mastram'' was expected to do better among trade but it never had chance to be honest. Film had dismal day one despite wide release and collected 35 lakhs on day one which means 1.25 cr nett lifetime and almost 70% investment of distributors will be washed out.

All in all it was bloodshed at box office and too many small films meant no show for exhibitors.

''''Khwaab'''' and ''''Manjunath'''' are non starrer and will find no takers due to almost zilch marketing. Hollywood release from Disney U TV ''''Million Dollar Arms'''' has Indian content but still road looks tough for the film at box office.
