RAGINI MMS 2 Offers Only Cheap Thrills But No Chills
Pluses:
chartbuster songs
Minuses:
Sunny Leone still stuck in 'Jism 2' mode full of wooden expressions, contrived plot, repetitive twists, over smart writing at places and unimpressive direction
Critic Rating:
1/5
Business Rating:
3/5
Verdict:
Watch it for any reason but not for sleaze
Detailed Analysis:
Ekta Kapoor tries to push the envelope every time she announces a erotica. She tasted success with bold content, be it ;Kya Super Kool Hian Hum' franchise or 'The Dirty Picture'. Even 'Ragini MMS' and LSD did decent numbers. Now she is back with this sequel of date flick.
The film takes off from where its prequel Ragini MMS ended which revolved around a young couple Ragini and Uday who went to an isolated house for a dirty weekend and the creepy and paranormal happenings that took place to them there.
Uday had planned to make an MMS scandal of Ragini in that house. But the MMS shot goes viral, Uday goes missing and Ragini after that incident became lunatic and ended up in a mental hospital.
The Ragini MMS scandal catches the attention of a filmmaker 9Pravin Dabbas) who plans to make a film on it. He casts a Bollywood actress (played by Sunny Leone) in his film to play the lead, Ragini. The film crew goes to shoot the film in the same house where the MMS scandal took place leading to further horrible and creepy happenings.
Performance wise Sunny Leone is consistent as she shows no growth from her plastic act in 'Jism 2'. Yes, this time around, she does not disappoint her male following. Pravin Dabbas, Divya Dutta and Sandhya Mridul are wasted in poorly written roles. There are more close ups of butts and lips than thrills. Writing is pedestal and camerawork is strictly average. Only saving grace of the film is chartbuster music. 'Chaar Botal Vodka' and 'Baby Doll' do lift the proceedings for brief period.
But it is director Bhushan Patel who should took all the blame. He just sticks to body of leading ladies and to some cheap thrills like lesbian act, nude shots and shower scenes. Even the climax is so clumsy that one wonders what was going through his mind. One feels that whole focus was to provide some titillating moments.
Film will release today and though film is certain to lead over all other releases but it will struggle in long run. Its true that film might emerge success just riding on skin show, cheap thrills and music which is sad.
Go for this one if you do not have access to you tube or internet for such thrills!
