QUEEN Leads The Pack, Overall All New Releases Dull
Hollywood release ''300 Rise Of An Empire'' was dull yesterday in paid previews and even today things look good for the film. Film managed around 80 lakhs yesterday and even today film has 20% opening. But due to big release and huge number of shows, it can put some sort of great total.
Today three Bollywood films and one big Hollywood film released in cinemas. ''Queen'' and ''Total Siyapaa'' will fight the battle primarily in multiplexes and ''''Gulaab Gang'' will fight with ''300'' sequel in single screens.
To start with, all films opened to dull houses. Worst was ''Total Siyapaa'' with 15% occupancy which was also hit by poor programming in cinemas. ''Gulaab Gang'' was around 15-20% and now film can hope from single screen cinemas. ''Queen'' too opened around 20% but film has glowing reviews and positiveword of mouth which means it has potential to jump big from evening onwards.
As per early trends, it seems that ''Queen'' will lead the pack with ''Gulaab Gang'' neck to neck if it performs well in single screen cinemas. ''Total Siyapaa'' has no hope and even a decent weekend is now out of question. ''Queen'' and ''Gulaab Gang'' should cross 2.5 cr nett on day one for any chance of decent weekend.
