Satya 2 Movie Reviews Recommended By The Times Of India - Madhureeta Mukherjee

Satya 2' (unlinked sequel), thrives on randomness and implausible ideas. This don is unconvincing, seeking no wrath or sympathy of the viewers. The supporting cast is too weak, and the unforgettable bhaichara, the potbellied Kallu maamas and boisterous Bhikus (of Satya fame) are sorely missed. RGV relies on his trademark camera angles, close-ups and deafening 'Satya' chants (background score) to heighten drama, but guns down the plot at the onset. Even a good hangover of the remarkable prequel might have salvaged this one.

Satya 2 Movie Reviews Recommended By NDTVMovies - Saibal Chatterjee

Skewed camera angles, frenzied cutting, a loud and persistent background score, inept acting all around and a hopelessly facile screenplay reduce the film to a Satya wannabe that sadly doesn’t have a chance in hell of achieving its ambition. Satya 2 does not have a single character that is half decent – one that the audience can relate to and empathise with.

It is a little hard to believe that this is the film that RGV chose to be a sequel to his most iconic creation. All I can say is that Satya 2 is as bad as Satya was good.

Having said that, I'd like to add that SATYA-2 has several nail-biting episodes that keep you completely hooked. Also, to give the credit where it's due, the writer does not suffer from SATYA hangover, which is a plus. The scenes are innovative, the screenplay is entrancing for most parts and the sequence of events keeps you drawn to the on-screen proceedings. The background score is effectual, while the cinematography captures the tension adroitly.

India Today  - Rohit Khilnani

Casting: In times when people buy tickets looking at the posters and the promos of a film, well in advance, RGV really thought that Puneet Singh Ratn's close up on the poster will be a selling point? The guy doesn't have a quarter of the intensity that J D Chakravarthy had in the original Satya. Forget the lead, the supporting cast provides no support either. Satya's love interest Chitra (Anaika) acts like a crazy person through the film and his friend's love interest is a girl whose character's name is 'Special' which she finds difficult to pronounce herself.

I flashbacked to that one as - began watching 'Satya 2', which in every way is as forgettable as the original was memorable. It is a disaster, not just as a sequel, but as a stand-alone, and it makes me nostalgic for the RGV that used to be.

Satya 2 Movie Reviews Recommended By  Sify - IANS

So many years after "Satya" spoke a new cinematic language, RGV is back in form displaying the sparks of brilliance that made the first "Satya" a trendsetting experience. No relation to the earlier film except the one of Bhai-giri, "Satya 2" sneaks slyly into Mumbai's dark dangerous sinister and ominous underbelly.

Satya 2 Movie Reviews Recommended By Bollywood Life - Kritika Ajmani

The only motivation to watch Satya 2 is its story – which is interesting in parts. Character sketches are impactful and if the actors were better, the movie would be too. There is certain freshness in the concept, but that is let down by RGV’s filming techniques – the same old ghisa-pita close-ups and extreme long-shots, rosy songs in the middle of nowhere and skin show where it’s not needed. The movie also overflows with ear-shattering gaalis, gratuitous violence and cringe-inducing moments. If only the director had stuck to the script without adding the frills, Satya 2 could have been a step down the road to the redemption of RGV.

Satya 2 Movie Reviews Recommended By India Today - Faheem Ruhani

There is absolute disregard for coming up with anything intelligent in this film which is supposed to be a crime thriller. Amateur writing, tacky sets, indifferent acting, cacophonous background score and anything random goes in Satya 2. Even when some aerial shots were required for the film the director has not bothered to venture anywhere beyond Oshiwara where his office is situated. With such lazy filmmaking being the biggest truth about the Satya 2, wouldn't you rather re-visit the Ram Gopal Varma's much more truthful Satya. Honestly!

Satya 2 Movie Reviews Recommended By Nowrunning - Mansha Rastogi

Satya 2 which comes 15 years after Satya is one of the worst works from the stable of RGV ki Factory. The movie is clearly not a worthy successor of its predecessor.
