Chor Chor Super Chor Reviews Recommended By Koimoi - Mohar Basu
Director K. Rajesh is clear in his conception of the film but his execution is fractured. The intrinsic fun value of the plot is destroyed in its incoherence and inconsistency. There is sloppiness in the film’s screenplay and often there is a lack of rhythm in the way the story falls which is anything but entertaining. It is sad Rajesh did not spend more time caressing the mood of the film or his characters which is what fails in this film. The film’s tight editing is stellar and luckily, the saga of a film wraps up in 90 minutes! Music is intelligent with low shelf life, but streams well into its plot!

The length of the film is an added advantage but it could still have been shorter by 10 minutes. The cinematographer has done a good thing by keeping the popular Delhi monuments out of frame as it gives a sense of claustrophobic space in which the characters operate.

Sadly, the film squanders the idea by stretching it around and turning several of its characters into overblown stereotypes with outlandish accents and exaggerated gestures -- even as its hero plays it mostly cool and realistic. The result is a film that never connects, a film that is frustratingly hard to like even though there are some good lines and good actors behind them.

There isn’t enough novelty as lot of sequences and scenes look like they were either inspired or written after watching other films. The jokes and one liners fall flat early on in the film. The only ones laughing are the on screen characters. Music too is average and sounds formulaic.

Turning the tables on someone usually is a fun thing. But the execution is amateurish, so is most of the acting, even if Dobriyal keeps some of it humming. This may have been a good half hour reality show, perhaps, but doesn't have enough for a full-length feature film.

Chor Chor Super Chor is a light-hearted, delightful film with a unique storyline and a superb twist. Set in Delhi, it is not an out-an-out entertainer, but manages to keep you intrigued, thanks to its quirky, innovative concept. Since the film's running time is under two hours, the length is just perfect and nowhere does it drag. The romance between Satbir and Neena is interesting. Their song seems a bit abrupt though.

It’s a crazily out-of-control world held together by K Rajesh’s straightfaced non-judgemental humour addressed to fringe lives. The performance by Dobriyal and a cast of gifted impresarios is intuitively vivacious. And the brisk goings-on never get tedious. This enjoyable film is a surprise. It sparkles with original wit directed at lives that would have been truly sad if they weren’t so funny.
