"Madras Cafe" was not expected to do much at box office but film capitalized on exceptional word of mouth and made all the killing at box office.
Film collected 8.50 cr nett on Sunday which was 2nd big jump taking weekend collection to approx. 21 cr nett. Film looks to hold on good on weekdays too going by the trend. Film should finish week one with 30-35 cr nett.
Film has such great reports that even after release of "Satyagraha" it will hold on to decent number of screens. Also good single screen business over weekend augers well for the film.
Film started well in overseas too with figure of 2 cr plus on day one.
