Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewaniis is an upcoming Bollywood romantic film directed by Ayan Mukerji under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles, 2008 hit Bachna Ae Haseeno. Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin will play supporting but important roles in the film. Initially, film was being aimed for Holi 2013, but now film will now be releasing on 31 May 2013.
Ranbir Kapoor was the very first choice of Ayan Mukerjit for the role, For his role in the film, Kapoor will be sporting pierced ears. His character reportedly called Bunny, is that of a travel show host and an ardent traveller. For the Ranbir’s leading lady, there was a lot of speculation about, with Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma being considered. Padukone was eventually chosen for the role as producer Karan Johar and director Ayan Mukerji felt she was the right choice. Reportedly she will portray the role of a sweet girl-next-door named Naina.
